Day 30 of The MAD Challenge and it is nearly over. I am back home now covering a mile a day on familiar territory.

Over the last 2 weeks I haven’t been able to run due to a hip injury and problems with water retention in my right leg. Whilst neither has fully recovered, I’m hoping that the hip is now close to being able to tolerate a run.

Day 29 of The MAD Challenge comes to you from Surrey. I spent last night catching up with a school friend so a few beers were had.

A late night and drinks seemed like a perfect combination for me to have a lie in on a Saturday morning but it wasn’t to be. I awoke just after 6 feeling tired but I struggled to go to sleep again.

Day 28 of The MAD Challenge is officially my last day in London. I was expecting a difficult morning after a late night out in Covent Garden. Surprisingly though I didn’t feel too bad on arising this morning. (Note to self, need to drink more beer!)

Day 27 of The MAD Challenge was better than Day 26 from the very start. Whilst the ground was wet outside it wasn’t raining. The air was fresh, the sun was soon to rise but I was dry.

Day 26 of The MAD Challenge and I guess my luck has run out. Until now, apart from Day 1, every mile I have covered has been in dry conditions. Not today.

As I’ve explained in earlier days, rain is forecast all week here in London and it has certainly been raining. Thankfully on Monday and Tuesday my mile a day outings have been just before the downpours.

Day 25 of The MAD Challenge and the countdown is most definitely on towards the end of the month. As I enjoy the varied sights and sounds of London I’m greeted with darkness for my morning miles.

Today’s start was again in darkness but thankfully it was dry. There was a lot of heavy rain throughout yesterday, yet again I was fortunate enough to be greeted with a dry morning. It appeared as though we’d been without rain for most of the night.

Day 24 of The MAD Challenge begins in west London. I’m down here for the week so have to become accustomed to my new environment.

Weather predictions are for heavy rain for most of the week, which doesn’t fill me with much confidence.

Day 23 of The MAD Challenge began with the realisation that I hadn’t taken any pain relief prior to going to bed last night. After completing the mile a day challenge yesterday morning, I walked maybe 2-3 miles during the day as well whilst I was out.

Admittedly yesterday the pain relief made it much easier to complete this so I had that to compare to this morning.

Day 22 of The MAD Challenge and I am home again after my exploits in Norway.

The journey back involved 2 flights. This in itself is not so bad yet both flights involved me having to walk up and down long flights of stairs for each plane. One section involved a long walk down one set of stairs then an immediate walk up another set into the terminal. All whilst carrying luggage too.
