Day 29 of The MAD Challenge comes to you from Surrey. I spent last night catching up with a school friend so a few beers were had.
A late night and drinks seemed like a perfect combination for me to have a lie in on a Saturday morning but it wasn’t to be. I awoke just after 6 feeling tired but I struggled to go to sleep again.
I wonder if my body is now into a routine of early mornings to go a mile a day. Or maybe it is just the effect of the beer?
After failed attempts to sleep some more I was up just after 7am.
Since I’m unfamiliar with this area of the world I hadn’t planned a route. I was just going to wander. However last night I was given a great tip on where I could find a nearby river walk. Thanks for the tip Ben, it was a wonderful way to start the morning.
The narrow river had lots of ducks and wildlife. There was also the occasional dog walker which emphasised how popular a place it was.
Then on the return to my B&B I noticed a woman pull up in a car park. She then opened her car door to put on her running shoes. Yet another reminder of my frustration of being unable to run for the last 2 weeks.
No weigh in today. I am away from home and don’t have access to any scales. Maybe that is just as well. Since my miles each day have been walking as opposed to running I guess I will not be losing any weight at all.
